Tribute to Reynold Charles
🕊️ Homegoing Tribute to Reynold Charles
A Voice for the Kingdom, A Life Well Lived
We gather today to honor the life and legacy of Reynold Charles, a man not known for political ambition, but for a divine calling—much like John the Baptist, a voice crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way of the Lord. Reynold was a man of God, chosen and anointed to impact generations through the ministry of WGOD Radio, a beacon of truth and hope across the Virgin Islands and beyond.
He was not just a broadcaster—he was a history maker, a trendsetter, a Kingdom visionary. Through WGOD, he opened the airwaves to voices of many faiths, believing that the Gospel should reach every people group, every persuasion, every heart. His love for people transcended denominational lines. He understood that the Kingdom of God is bigger than any one church—it is a movement of love, truth, and transformation.
Whenever we gathered, Reynold would share his spiritual insights about the Virgin Islands with passion and clarity. His desire was simple yet profound: to see the Kingdom of God saturate the region, not just through sermons, but through the streaming and broadcasting power of WGOD. And he didn’t wait for someone else to fund the vision—he invested his own resources, his own heart, his own life, to ensure the Word of God reached the masses.
I was always just a phone call away, honored to assist WGOD staff with technical support whenever needed. It was never a burden—it was a joy to help carry the Gospel to our region. Reynold’s commitment inspired many of us to serve with excellence and urgency.
On behalf of my wife Everine Hazell and the Global Life Church, we recognize that a stalwart of heavenly worth has transitioned to his eternal reward. As the scripture declares:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness…”
—2 Timothy 4:7–8
Reynold Charles was indeed a John the Baptist of our day, preaching the Kingdom Gospel through the airwaves, calling hearts to repentance, revival, and righteousness. His legacy will echo through every sermon, every song, every testimony that WGOD ever aired.
To his beloved wife, Veeda Charles; daughters Maria Charles Alexander, Esther, Zelene, Joi; and the entire Charles family, Everine and I extend our deepest sympathies. May the memories of this extraordinary man of God sustain your hearts, and may you find comfort in the outpouring of love from the community he so faithfully served.
Heaven has gained a general. Earth has lost a giant. But the Kingdom has been enriched by his life.
I join my voice with the Virgin Island Community to offer condolences to the staff of WGOD and the family of the late Mr. Reynold Charles . I had the unique opportunity to co-host YouthExplosion with Kenmore Claxton on WGOD for a few years. A program designed for youth led by young adults.
