Part #4 The Call to Suffering and Reigning

Part #4  The Call to Suffering and Reigning

 Introduction

As we delve into this segment of our study, it is crucial to understand that the condition to reign is suffering. The scriptures remind us that if we endure suffering, we will also reign with Christ. This paradox invites us to reflect on our spiritual journey amidst the challenges we face in our lives and ministries.

 The Cost of Reigning

 The Reality of Suffering

The message of suffering is often overshadowed by the allure of prosperity and comfort preached in many churches today. In 2 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV), we read, "If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us." This scripture underscores the necessity of suffering as an integral part of our faith journey.

 The Sensational Gospel

Today, many churches, particularly in America and England, focus on a sensational gospel that captivates the audience with promises of material wealth and success, leading souls astray. This approach often neglects the truth of the Gospel, which calls us to a deeper relationship with Christ, one that may involve trials and tribulations.

The Role of Intercessors

 The Call to Return

The role of intercessors has never been more critical. We are called to return to the foundational truths of the Gospel. Jeremiah 6:17 (NKJV) states, "Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’" This verse highlights the importance of discerning the distinct sounds that come from the trumpet—a metaphor for the messages from God.

 Distinct Sounds of the Intercessor

Intercessors have a unique calling to pay attention to God's distinct sounds. The various sounds signify different seasons and feasts in God’s plan, and it is essential for intercessors to be attuned to these divine signals. We must not confuse the sounds of revival with the expectations shaped by previous generations. God is raising a new sound for this age—one that may not resemble the past revivals we have come to expect.

 The Need for Discernment

 Recognizing the New Sound

As we await a new revival, it is vital to recognize that God may not manifest this revival through familiar voices or platforms. The revival may come from unexpected sources, perhaps from those who do not have the recognition or status we often associate with divine authority.

 The Watchmen’s Responsibility

The call for watchmen is clear: rise and discern the signs of the times. We must be vigilant and attentive, as Isaiah 56:10 (NKJV) warns, "His watchmen are blind; they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs; they cannot bark." This scripture serves as a caution against complacency and ignorance in our spiritual watch.

 The Call to Action

 A Clarion Call

The trumpet is sounding, signaling a clarion call to alignment and action. We must rise to our posts and fulfill our responsibilities as watchmen. As we engage in prayer, we must ask the Lord to give us eyes to see and ears to hear the movements of His Spirit in our nation.

 The Prayer of the Watchmen

As we conclude this segment, let us offer a collective prayer: "Lord, give us the eyes to see the move of God in our nation. Help us discern the sound you are releasing into the earth. May we stand firm in truth and proclaim your word boldly."

 Conclusion

The journey of reigning with Christ is intertwined with the reality of suffering. It is a path that requires discernment, vigilance, and an unwavering commitment to the truth of the Gospel. As we prepare for the next session, may we reflect on our roles as watchmen and intercessors, ready to respond to the distinct sound of God’s call in our lives.
