Can I Be Single & Happy?
Can You Thrive in Singleness?
Audio: Can I Be Single & Happy@ https://youtu.be/A1DC1YTuctI
"But I speak this by permission, and not of Commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner (single), and another after that (married)." - First Corinthians 7:6,7
Discovering the Essence of Scripture
In these verses, the apostle Paul imparts wisdom that goes beyond mere rules. He wasn't suggesting that everyone should stay single, causing humanity to dwindle. Rather, he was illustrating that happiness isn't rooted in marital status; it flourishes in your relationship with the Lord.

God's Opinion, Not Just Paul's
When Paul mentions "permission," it's better understood as "a shared perspective." He isn't enforcing a command; he's relaying both his view and God's perspective.
Gifts Unveiled: Singleness and Marriage
Paul talks about two divine gifts in verse 7: the gift of singleness and the gift of marriage. Both emanate from God and neither is superior. Each brings its own blessings and challenges, all tailored for specific seasons. Remember, God equips you for whatever path you embrace.
Empowering Your Singleness
- Foster Meaningful Connections: Reach out, serve, and uplift others in your community.
- Cultivate Your Talents: Explore hobbies, writing, or creative pursuits that bring you joy.
- Extend a Helping Hand: Engage in volunteer work or serving initiatives.
- Be a Source of Encouragement: Uplift others through kind words and acts of kindness.
- Invest in Mentorship: Share your wisdom and experience to guide others.
- A Shared Struggle: Loneliness Knows No Labels
Whether single or married, the struggle against temptation and loneliness is universal. The choice to be single doesn't shield you from these challenges. Just as married individuals can feel lonely despite their families, singles too yearn for something more.
Eyes on the Eternal
Both the unmarried and the married often
forget Jesus' unwavering presence (Hebrews 13:5). Through Him, they can conquer
challenges and experience fulfillment (Philippians 4:13). Their joy can be
complete, rooted in His love (John 15:11).
1)
"Let your conduct be
without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself
has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'" - Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)
2)
"I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
3) "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." - John 15:11 (NKJV)
Rediscovering Wholeness
If loneliness creeps in, turn to Jesus through prayer and Scripture study. These moments of communion can mend the ache within.
Prioritizing the Divine Connection

- Embrace the Gift of Now: Relish your current season; God's grace abounds here.
- Singleness: A Journey of Abundance

flourish in a life devoted to God, regardless of relationship status.
Participate wholeheartedly in your faith community, radiate kindness, and
embrace your journey of joyful singleness. Remember, you're never alone, for
