"What is holding you in a holding pattern?"

Stuck in a Holding Pattern

Breaking Out of the Holding Pattern in our Lives

Introduction:

Greetings, brothers, and sisters in Christ. Today, we will delve into a crucial topic that affects many of us – "What is holding you in a holding pattern?" We'll draw inspiration from the children of Israel, who, despite experiencing God's deliverance from slavery, found themselves trapped in a holding pattern due to their own doubts and fears. Let us learn from their journey and discover how to break free from our own cyclic patterns in life.Audio to this bloghttps://youtu.be/esMfGK_vpQE

I. The Children of Israel: Stuck in a Holding Pattern

A. God's Command to Go Forward

Exodus 14:15 - "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.'" – God’s command to you today is to go forward. Go forward into your purpose and destiny.

B. The Wilderness Experience

Exodus 13:17-18 - "When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, 'If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.' So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea."

Numbers 14:33-34 - "Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness."

C. The Spies' Report and Doubts

Numbers 13:30 - "Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, 'We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.'"

II. Moving Out of Your Holding Pattern

A. Embrace Faith and Trust in God

Hebrews 11:6 - "And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

B. Repent and Seek God's Guidance

Acts 3:19 - "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."

Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

III. Conquering Your Holding Pattern

A. Breaking Financial Patterns

Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

Malachi 3:10 - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.'"

B. Overcoming Family Cycles

Psalm 127:3 - "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him."

Proverbs 22:6 - "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it."

C. Spiritual Breakthrough in the Church

Acts 2:42 - "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Matthew 16:18 - "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."

IV. Experiencing Victory through God's Love and Grace

A. Surrendering to God's Plan

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

B. Relying on God's Strength

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

C. Trusting in God's Miraculous Intervention

Isaiah 41:10 - "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Persevere in Prayer: Don't give up in prayer! Persistently seek God's guidance and strength, knowing that He hears your prayers and will answer them in His perfect timing.

Break Financial Patterns: Trust in God's provision and be faithful in your stewardship. Give generously and tithe, knowing that God will bless you abundantly.

Overcome Family Cycles: Break free from generational patterns of poverty or dysfunction by seeking God's wisdom and establishing a godly foundation for your family.

Experience Spiritual Breakthrough: Devote yourself to the study of God's Word, fellowship with believers, and fervent prayer. Watch as the church experiences a spiritual multiplication.

Surrender to God's Plan: Let go of your own desires and plans, and fully surrender to God's will. He has a purpose and a future filled with hope for each one of us.

Rely on God's Strength: Remember that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. In your weakness, God's power is made perfect.

Trust in God's Miraculous Intervention: Believe in God's ability to perform miracles in your life. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever – nothing is too difficult for Him.

In conclusion, dear brothers, and sisters, let us break free from the holding patterns that have hindered our progress in spirituality, physicality, and all aspects of life. Embrace God's command, seek His guidance, and trust in His miraculous intervention. As we do so, we will conquer our holding patterns and step into the abundant life God has planned for us. Remember, He brought the children of Israel through the wilderness and into their Promised Land, and He will faithfully lead us to our promised blessings too. Be encouraged and press forward, for the grace and love of God will carry you through to victory! Amen.
