We'll draw inspiration from the children of Israel, who, despite experiencing God's deliverance from slavery, found themselves trapped in a holding pattern due to their own doubts and fears. I. The Children of Israel: Stuck in a Holding Pattern
A. God's Command to Go Forward
Exodus 14:15 - "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.'" – God’s command to you today is to go forward. Go forward into your purpose and destiny.
B. The Wilderness Experience
Exodus 13:17-18 - "When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, 'If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.' So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea."
Numbers 14:33-34 - "Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness."
C. The Spies' Report and Doubts
Numbers 13:30 - "Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, 'We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.'"
