Your Bible is Active and Alive

Introduction

  • The word of God reveals the heart of God. It lets us know what God is thinking about us and in every situation we may encounter.
  • Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
    • This verse tells us that the word of God is not just a book, but a living and powerful force that can penetrate our innermost being.
    • It also tells us that the word of God can judge our thoughts and motives, and expose what is hidden in our hearts.

When you read your Bible, it reads you

The word of God searches your mind

  • Romans 12:2: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
