Your Bible is Active and Alive

Introduction

  • The word of God reveals the heart of God. It lets us know what God is thinking about us and in every situation we may encounter.
  • Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
    • This verse tells us that the word of God is not just a book, but a living and powerful force that can penetrate our innermost being.
    • It also tells us that the word of God can judge our thoughts and motives, and expose what is hidden in our hearts.

When you read your Bible, it reads you

    • This verse shows us that we can ask God to examine our hearts and reveal anything that is not pleasing to him.
    • It also shows us that we can trust God to guide us in the right way, according to his word.

The word of God searches your mind

  • Romans 12:2: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
    • This verse tells us that we need to change our thinking patterns according to the word of God, and not follow the ways of the world.
    • It also tells us that by renewing our mind with the word of God, we can understand what God wants us to do in every situation.

  • 1 Peter 5:7: "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
    • This verse tells us that we can give all our worries and problems to God, and he will take care of them for us.
    • It also tells us that God cares for us, and he knows what is best for us.
